One morning, I woke up with swollen ankles and knew something was off. It was May 2021. Suddenly, I was terrified I might not live to see my kids graduate, get married, or meet my grandkids.
My doctor told me I needed a major lifestyle change to have a shot at old age. That’s when I realized I had to leave the roofing industry. With my condition, one bad day of dehydration could lead to renal shutdown. A month later, I switched gears to a new career, determined to help people like you avoid my mistakes and change their lives.
This whole experience got me thinking about a conversation I blew off a few years earlier, in 2017. Someone offered me the exact same opportunity you're looking at now. They tried to tell me I wouldn’t be in the roofing industry forever and needed to start planning for my future. But I brushed it off, thinking I was only 25 and had plenty of time.
Boy, was I wrong. Fast forward a few years, and I’m dealing with kidney disease, starting from scratch to figure out how I’ll ever afford to retire. Don’t make the same mistake I did. After my diagnosis, I tried setting up the infinite banking system for myself, but it was too late. My kidney function meant I couldn't take advantage of it.
So, yeah, I’m managing my disease, but I missed out on a huge opportunity. If I’d gotten covered in 2017, I’d be set for life. Instead, I waited, and now I’m stuck.
